Harold Don "Bub" Ellis Jr., 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully with his family by his side Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Dec, 23, 1950, in Cape Girardeau to Harold Donn and June L. Vogelsang Ellis Sr.

He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam, while on the USS Denver from October 1970 to July 1972.

His favorite pastime was watching his grandson play sports, taking photos with his granddaughter and playing fetch with Rusty.

Bub leaves behind a loving wife of 50 years, Patsy Wells Ellis.

He is also survived by two children, Harold Patrick Ellis and Lydia Ellis Lindley; two grandchildren, Kalin Patrick Ellis and Tatum Rayne Lindley; four sisters, Ann Ellis, Brenda Bender, Vicky Lee Hensley and Pamela Jean Kelly; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel Ellinghouse officiating. Interment will take place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Kidney Foundation, 1001 Craig Rd. #480, St. Louis, MO 63146; VFW Post 3838, 1049 N. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau, MO, 63701, or a charity of choice.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and staff at ER Med Tele and Southeast Hospital ICU for their care for Bub.
