Russel Eugene Farrow, 96, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was the son of the late George E. and Emma Perry Farrow. Russel and Joyce Farrow were united in marriage on Feb. 23, 1945.

Russel served three tours as a merchant marine during World War II and was a lifelong business owner in the timber and lumber business.

Survivors include his wife of 76 years, Joyce Farrow of the home; son Terry W. (Margaret) Farrow of Jackson; daughter, Linda J. Farrow of Cape Girardeau; sister, Betty Ward of Carbondale, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Linda Sue Farrow of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Lance Farrow, Amy LeGrand, Laurie (Tim) Pleimann and Christian (Jackie) Farrow; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis R. Farrow; six brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home on Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at noon Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Entombment will be at the Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are appreciated to the Catholic Social Ministries Food Pantry.
