Historic Photo Reveals Deterioration of Cape Girardeau's South Main Parkway in 1956
The center of the photograph shows the location of the former parkway on South Main Street in Cape Girardeau, which once was a place of beauty, but which by July 1956 had been allowed to deteriorate. The laying of a flood-control sewer line, shown here, destroyed what was left of the parkway.
