Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge 639 has named Nathan Seyer, a senior at Notre Dame, and Felicia Ford, a senior at Cape Central, September students of the month.

Seyer, 17, has been active in student council, varsity and junior varsity soccer. He has been on the honor roll, attended Boys State and participated in Youth Government Day.

Seyer hopes to attend college and study civil engineering or psychology. He is the son of Michael and Brenda Seyer of Cape Girardeau.

Ford, 17, has been active in cross country, track, band, National Honor Society, Lettermen's Club, Spanish Club treasurer, and a volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Ford hopes to go on to college and study law. She is the daughter of Freddie Ford of Cape Girardeau.

The student of the month program is sponsored by the Elks Lodge in an effort to bring recognition to outstanding youth.

Multiple achievement, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selection of students of the month.
