Southeast Missouri State football has added a quarterback to its roster.
Former Central Michigan University quarterback Alex Niznak will transfer to Southeast, according to a news release issued by the school's athletic department Wednesday.
Niznak will be eligible for the 2014 season and has two remaining years of eligibility, according to a spokesman from the department.
Niznak played in four games last season as a redshirt sophomore. He made one start and completed 13 of 27 passes for 138 yards.
He redshirted as a freshman in 2011 and did not play in a game in 2012.
Other quarterbacks on the Redhawks roster include returning players Kyle Snyder and Blake Jackson and incoming freshmen Anthony Cooper and Griffin Pickler.
Scott Lathrop, who shared time with Snyder last season, will not play quarterback next season, according to first-year coach Tom Matukewicz.
Poplar Bluff offensive lineman and long snapper Logan Misner also signed with Southeast as well as offensive lineman Giovanni Negron from Countryside High School in Tampa, Florida, and offensive and defensive lineman Joshua Wilson from Royal Palm Beach High School in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
Misner is the third offensive lineman from Poplar Bluff to sign with Matukewicz. He joins Nick and Quentin Michel.
The Redhawks, who wrapped up spring practices Saturday, begin their season Aug. 28.
