Gov. Mike Parson will be among three speakers to present at the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural State of the Community Luncheon.

Cape Girardeau Mayor Stacy Kinder and Southeast Missouri State University president Carlos Vargas round out the speaker list. All three will provide their insights about critical and relevant information to regional business and industry leaders, said Rob Gilligan, chamber president and chief executive officer.

“My hope is that our members will be able to be updated and informed on the current issues and needs of these partners and organizations,” he said.

The luncheon is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Drury Plaza Conference Center, 3551 Percy Drive in Cape Girardeau. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased at www.capechamber.com. The deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, Aug. 15.

It is the third of five signature events the chamber is hosting this year. The remaining events are the Women in Business: At the Heart of it All Celebration on Friday, Sept. 20, and the Southeast Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Symposium on Thursday, Nov. 14.
