Cape man arrested for alleged first-degree assault

Cape Girardeau Police Department officers arrested a Cape Girardeau man for an alleged first-degree assault after responding to a “disturbance” Sunday, Aug. 11, in the 900 block of Themis Street.

Christopher Wilson, 63, was arrested after officers learned through their investigation that Wilson allegedly attacked a person with a “box cutter-style knife”, according to a Cape Girardeau Police Department news release. The release stated that the victim had several lacerations from the weapon but refused treatment while officers were on the scene.

“Offi-cers transported Wilson to the Cape Girardeau Police Department and during the booking process, officers located a small baggie of suspected narcotics in Wilson’s possession that later field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine,’’ the release stated.

Wilson is being held on a $75,000 bond.
