Jack Johnson

He was born April 29, 1930, in Cape Girardeau to Elbert and Erma Johnson. Jack’s greatest love was his family. He always kept them laughing with his stories, "dad" jokes and impeccable comedic timing.

Throughout his long life, Jack had many roles and talents. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a skilled carpenter, route salesman, sales manager, farmer, real estate agent and property owner. He was not afraid to take on new adventures, and he was always successful.

Some of his fondest memories were of summers spent on the beach with his five granddaughters in Texas.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Leach; parents; one brother, Gene (Opal) Johnson; and granddaughter, Cyndi Johnson.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Kaye Johnson; daughter, Melinda (Kevin) Selsor; son, Stephen Johnson; three stepchildren, Scott, Stephen and Dia Welker; grandchildren, Laura (Treton) Bilsland, Natalie (Katie) Selsor, Jackie (Andy) Davidson and Jodi (David) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Scarlett, Nora, George, Andrew, Ella, Payge and Wyatt; and great-great-grandchild, Camellia.

He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church.
