Riverfront Fall Festival returns with artisan vendors, live music, family fun

This year's Riverfront Fall Festival in Cape Girardeau will be Saturday, Oct. 19.

It is the third year Visit Cape will be holding this festival, which will start at 11 a.m. and go until 6 p.m., with activities taking place in the Kellerman Foundation parking lot, Water Street, Themis Street and Riverfront Park along the Mississippi River floodwall.

The Riverfront Fall Festival will feature a collection of artisan vendors from around Southeast Missouri. Attendees can expect a variety of goods, including art, woodwork, crafts, knitting, crochet, food, snacks and other handmade items. Activities for youngsters will include face painting, games, a costume contest and more.

The food court and Main Stage event area will be located on the Kellerman Foundation parking lot. Offerings will include food trucks, local beverages and outdoor seating, adding to the several restaurants in Downtown Cape. The music lineup will include have something for everyone, featuring The Jumper Cables, The Evan Webb Band, The Faultline Band, Jarrek Stone Experience and The Ivas John Band.

A highlight of the festival will be the opening ceremony, where Gourdo Montoya will be freed from fall festival responsibilities as the Pardoned Pumpkin.

The festival also offers opportunities for community involvement, with a call for volunteers and ways to stay updated through the festival's website and Facebook page.
