Southeast Missouri State University announced a partnership Monday, Sept. 2, with Niche to provide “no-application” admissions.

According to a news release from the university, students who meet SEMO’s admissions criteria will automatically be accepted without the need to fill out an application through Niche’s Direct Admissions program. Direct Admissions programs are gaining popularity nationwide, prompting SEMO to make the college application process easier.

“Our goal is to simplify a process that can feel complex and intimidating,” Lenell Hahn, SEMO’s director of admissions said. “We want to save students time, make it easier for them to choose to go to college and help them envision being a future Redhawk at SEMO.”

Students will utilize a “personalized Niche dashboard” where they can instantly see if they’ve been accepted into SEMO, as well as any other school that utilizes the program. The dashboard will offer information about the universities a student has been accepted into and provides an option to begin the enrollment process.

“Niche is changing how colleges connect with students and build their future classes,” Niche’s founder and CEO Luke Skurman said. “By leveraging Niche Direct Admissions, admissions teams are equipped with an efficient, user-friendly way to meet students where they are, providing a modern experience that drives meaningful, measurable results.”
