Sen. Jason Crowell was elected to serve Southeast Missouri's 27th Senate District in November of 2004 and was reelected in November 2008. During his first year in the Senate, Sen. Crowell earned the Chairmanship of the Committee on Pensions, Veterans' Affairs and General Laws. Before that, in 2000, Jason Crowell was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives and represented the 158th district. After re-election in 2002 Jason was elected by his colleagues to be the Majority Leader. Jason used this position to fight for lower taxes, protect traditional marriage, and reign in out of control spending.

Preserving Your Healthcare Choice

Like many Americans, I am concerned with the efforts to force upon us a federal healthcare bill that America clearly does not support. Because of the cost to taxpayers and the likely decline of access to doctors that will result, it is important that Missourians are protected from the harmful effects of this federal legislation.

In this week's video, I explain how Senate Bill 948 will help to protect Missourians from this massive expansion of government by seeking to prohibit the federal government from restricting or penalizing your individual choice to purchase private healthcare plans. Nullification is the word that you are looking for Sen. Crowell. It is perfectly constitutional per the Tenth Amendment.

I just have a difficult time taking seriously a politician that preaches about the evils of the expansion of the central government, and then hails programs like Medicare Part D and SCHIP in the same breath.
