Sen. Jason Crowell was elected to serve Southeast Missouri's 27th Senate District in November of 2004 and was reelected in November 2008. During his first year in the Senate, Sen. Crowell earned the Chairmanship of the Committee on Pensions, Veterans' Affairs and General Laws. Before that, in 2000, Jason Crowell was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives and represented the 158th district. After re-election in 2002 Jason was elected by his colleagues to be the Majority Leader. Jason used this position to fight for lower taxes, protect traditional marriage, and reign in out of control spending.

Autism Awareness Month - Focusing on Helping those with Autism

April is Autism Awareness Month and in this week's video, I highlight many of the accomplishments Missouri has made in treating this disorder. And as the number of children with autism continues to increase, making sure that research and treatment is available for those with autism-related disorders in Missouri is an important priority.

I hope during this month, you will join me in taking time to reflect on the families in our community who spend every day dealing with autism. By working together to make sure progress is made in the research and treatment of autism, we can continue to make tomorrow better than today.
