Sen. Jason Crowell was elected to serve Southeast Missouri's 27th Senate District in November of 2004 and was reelected in November 2008. During his first year in the Senate, Sen. Crowell earned the Chairmanship of the Committee on Pensions, Veterans' Affairs and General Laws. Before that, in 2000, Jason Crowell was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives and represented the 158th district. After re-election in 2002 Jason was elected by his colleagues to be the Majority Leader. Jason used this position to fight for lower taxes, protect traditional marriage, and reign in out of control spending.

"So the Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father." (John 1:14)

This weekend marks the celebration of Easter this year, the holiday that observes the cornerstone of the Christian faith -- the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We join together with family and friends on this day to celebrate and reflect on this holy event. This is a time to rejoice in the glory of Jesus Christ's resurrection and focus on the joy of that blessed event.

Our observance of Easter starts as we celebrate Good Friday, which marks the day when Jesus took the sins of the world upon himself through his death. In doing so, Jesus affirms the promise of the forgiveness of sins. When Jesus conquered death and arose from the grave three days later, He affirmed the promise of eternal life. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!" (Romans 5:8-9).

The true celebration of Easter is on Sunday when we gather to observe when Jesus conquered death and arose from the grave. Through this miracle, He affirmed the promise of eternal life. "Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." (1 Peter 1: 3). The message of this event is a strong one: no matter how bad things may seem, there is hope through God's love.

Sweet Jesus!

Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, that He might become a merciful and faithful High priest in thing pertaining to God to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Hebrews 2:17

Whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; Romans 3:25

And He himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world; 1 John 2:2

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10

Through justification in Christ, man regains the image he formerly had with God before his fall (Gen 3) as a result of disobedience.

My life is forever yours Father, in Jesus name, Amen.
