Former Socials becomes The Bar
Posted Friday, September 20, 2013, at 1:09 PM
We reported a couple of weeks ago that carpenters were at work transforming the former Socials Cafe at Themis Street and North Spanish Street into a bar for "Gone Girl" filming.
Now we know more precisely what this spot will be used for.
The building has now become The Bar, a place main character Nick Dunne buys with the last of his missing wife's trust fund money and runs with this sister. Reporter Erin Ragan, who has read the book, said The Bar is a bit of a hideout from the world for Nick, so it's likely there will be several scenes filmed in this spot with Ben Affleck, who plays Nick.
