"Gone Girl" filming in residential area
EDITOR'S NOTE: At the request of filmmakers who wish to avoid large crowds, we aren't disclosing the location and timing of filming that hasn't happened yet.
In the rain Friday afternoon, crews were setting up a house and yard in a Cape Girardeau neighborhood where scenes are expected to be filmed tonight. Cape Girardeau police officers directed traffic around closed streets, but also expressed some excitement that they had been chosen as extras for the film. One officer said he was told he would be included in an "investigation scene." Curious neighbors, despite the weather, gathered outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of an actor. Most said they wanted to see Ben Affleck.
Several people said they had contracts with the production company that set out agreements for staying inside during active filming.
