'Gone Girl' kicks off Fallon's book club; Affleck a good choice?
Last week we told readers that "Gone Girl" author Gillian Flynn, a Kansas City native, would be on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" talking about the book that's now being made into an A-list movie filmed in Cape Girardeau.
Turns out Flynn was on the show because her book is the inaugural entry in Fallon's "Late to the Party Book Club."

Affleck a good choice for Nick?
Not according a blogger on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website, www.stltoday.com.
On the site's Book Blog, blogger Jane Henderson says she wonders if Ben Affleck is charming enough to play writer Nick Dunne, whose wife Amy is the "Gone Girl" who goes missing.
Have you read the book? What do you think?
We also made www.stltoday.com yesterday with movie blogger Joe Williams' piece on the secrecy surrounding the project here in Cape Girardeau. Read it here.
Awards for Fincher
"Gone Girl" director David Fincher won an Emmy last night for his work on the Netflix original series "House of Cards," which stars Kevin Spacey as ruthless congressman Francis Underwood.
More filming today
There's more filming on "Gone Girl" happening in Cape Girardeau today, as there likely will be pretty much every day for the next few weeks. Check out a story on the filming we're working on that will be posted later at www.semissourian.com.
