Celebrity 'Gone Girl' sightings on the increase in Cape Girardeau
EDITOR'S NOTE: We've removed the photo of Ben Affleck at the request of the person whose Facebook page it was posted on.
Cape Girardeau is abuzz with celebrity sightings.
By now pretty much the entire town (and everyone within a 100-mile radius) has heard about the Ben Affleck sighting at Saint Francis Medical Center's Fitness Plus gym on Monday.
Then of course there's all the filming that's been happening over the past few days with David Fincher directing Rosamund Pike in full public view.
Today we're getting messages into our newsroom that Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Amy Dunne's ex-boyfriend in the film, was seen this morning at Starbucks on the city's west end. Our own Kristen Pind said a friend of a friend saw Harris there sometime around 8 a.m.
How about you readers? Anyone see Harris at Starbucks this morning?
Of course, they're all here for the filming of "Gone Girl," a 20th Century Fox movie being filmed partially in Cape Girardeau. It's based on the best-selling 2012 novel of the same name. In addition to starring roles for Affleck, Pike, Harris and Tyler Perry and direction by David Fincher, Reese Witherspoon is producing.
There's clearly big money involved in this project, and 20th Century Fox is in line for some major tax credits, as we reported late yesterday.
