The Bar is seeking a manager
Posted Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 10:53 PM
Used as part of the set for the filming of "Gone Girl" in Cape Girardeau, The Bar, 117 Themis St., recently started advertising for a restaurant/bar manager.
The owner of The Bar remains a mystery. It was sold in January by its previous owner, John Wyman of Merriwether Investments. No one has applied for a business license for the building.
The ad provides little information, but it states a preference for experience in full-service casual-dining restaurant or bar management. So it may be safe to assume The Bar will return in the same form it took in its former fictional life.
