Cape, "Gone Girl" featured in Missouri Business magazine
Cape Girardeau got a little statewide attention in the September edition of Missouri Business magazine.
The magazine touched on several aspects of filming in the Show Me State, but the main feature focused on the filming of "Gone Girl" and its economic effects on Cape Girardeau.
"We tried to extend a great amount of graciousness to the filmmakers, and they have returned that 110 percent," Dr. Jim Dufek, professor of mass media at Southeast Missouri State University, told the magazine.
Among the economic highlights: several local hotels were nearly filled to capacity with cast and crew, Schnucks received about $10,000 in business from food for the crew, and membership shot up at a local gym where Ben Affleck was spotted, according to the article.
