Early viewers say 'Gone Girl' film's ending not much different from novel
Rumors have been circulating for some time that the end of "Gone Girl" was changed for the film adaptation. However, it seems those rumors were just that.
Journalist Cara Buckley of the New York Times in an excerpt from an interview with Ben Affleck says the film "hews closely to the book."
This report stands in contrast to comments made in a January story in Entertainment Weekly in which both director David Fincher and novelist Gillian Flynn said the third act had been changed.
And just last month, Tyler Perry said he thought the movie was going to surprise audiences regardless of whether they'd read the book.
