Why I Like Cape

The other day, I was coming through the drive-thru at Chick Fil-A to get a fruit cup for breakfast. As I handed my debit card through the window to the attendant, she dropped it and the card fluttered to the pavement in front of my rear wheel. It's a tight fit in a drive-thru, so I managed to reach back and grab it with a little effort and as I straightened up in my seat again, hit my head on the ceiling. The attendant told me my food was on the house. I insisted on giving her the debit card - it was no big deal. She said she'd already rung it up as complimentary and wouldn't accept it. When I pointed out that perhaps she didn't have the authority to do this, she said she did and it was done - and I should have a nice day. This kind of thing doesn't happen everywhere, and I've lived a few places. But instances of generosity like this have happened several times since we moved to Cape in 2005. This is a special place to live for many reasons but this is one.
