The Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau and Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center are teaming up with a blog posting contest offering local moms a chance to win 4-packs of tickets to the new water park.

Rules for the contest, called Very Important Moms (V.I.M.s) Love Cape Splash, are posted below.

I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to judge the entries, especially since I previously worked with lots of "Mommy Bloggers" while I was director of the Spencer County Visitors Bureau in Santa Claus, Ind., home of Holiday World & Splashin' Safari.

Here are the basic entry rules:

1. You must have a blog with at least 10 posts.

2. You must write a blog post of 3 paragraphs or more about a previous trip to Cape Splash.

3. You must include at least one photo from your Cape Splash trip.

4. *You may include video or links to video of your trip--but it is not necessary to enter.

Once your post is created, send an email to slynch@visitcape.com with a link to your blog. Simply write about your trip to Cape Splash, email the link, and you will be automatically entered to win a family 4-pack of tickets to Cape Splash.

The winning entries will not only receive a 4-pack of Cape Splash tickets! The link to your Cape Splash blog entry will be:

why would anybody want to win tickets to that place?

So why are they calling it 'Very Important Moms' if you don't have to be a mom, or even a woman? That doesn't make any sense.

Would you guys knock it off. Either enter the contest or don't. If you don't like the rules, don't play. Sheesh.

A day of free fun at the Water Park for the entire family sounds like a good prize to me. ☻

Hey guys - I'm having a cutest puppy photo contest. Post pictures of the cutest puppy right here to win. Of course, if you don't have a puppy,m no worries, post a photo of your kitten and you could still win. Go ahead and post a photo of a camel, or a peacock, or a picture of a giraffe from the St Louis Zoo and you could win the Cutest Puppy photo contest too!

When my daughter and I went we had a blast. She loved trying to get me wet in the 10 and under section; by the way, kudos to the designers for padding that area.

Since there's a bruha about the name of the contest, perhaps it should be shortened to "Love Cape Splash!"

I like the waterpark, have been twice and had fun, and the grandkids even moreso. The name of this contest just doesn't make any sense, and is somewhat sexist frankly.

I agree with the above poster- last week we were told to leave our valuables in the car, so that the hoodlums wouldn't actually have to buy tickets to steal our stuff... instead they can just break into our parked cars... now they are telling us to bring our video cameras and our cameras in.. what's up? Sounds like a BIG SET UP to me!
