Cape Electrical Supply acquires Kentucky business

Cape Electrical Supply has acquired Cumberland Electric Supply located in Somerset, Ky.

Cumberland becomes the 22nd location for Cape Electric and the company's sixth store in Kentucky.

Cumberland will offer Cape Electrical Supply a broader market presence in Kentucky. The company's store network now stretches across the southern tier of the state from Paducah in the west, Bowling Green in the central part of the state, and now eastward to Somerset. Cumberland serves a wide range of customers in the surrounding market area and has been in business since 1962.

"The value of independent distribution in communities such as Somerset allows us to leave all the things in place that customers expect, yet add improvements and make investment towards future growth," said Cape Electric President Allen Toole.

Marty Mize will continue in his role as General Manager of Cumberland, as will long time Sales Manager Glen Wheeler. Toole pointed out a large part of Cumberland's value is the stability of its sales team and customer base.

Cape Electrical Supply operates locations in Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee. In business since 1953, the company serves customers in electrical construction, industrial, communications, residential, and utility markets.
