  • They fry in Peanut Oil so beware!!!!!! If you are allergic like me sorry no good stuff for you either. I used to be able to eat there before my body decided it hated peanuts!!!!

  • Who's building the shopping area out by the new Plaza Tire building.

  • Chick-fil-A is coming out with a banana pudding milkshake this week, though some units have already begun selling them. It's a taste of heaven!

Chick-fil-A is about the only restaurant my wife, daughter and I eat at each day. It's an awesome company with great service, quality individuals and some of the best-tasting, healthiest food around! Eat Mor Chiken.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot to add that they have some other awesome sides besides waffle fries such as harvest granola nut or cookie crumble yogurt, side salads that include sunflower seeds, croutons and an assortment of dressings, carrot and raisin salad and cole slaw.

  • Praise the LORD!!! Oh, how I have missed you my delicious little chicken sandwich! My life is almost complete. If only they would put in a Krispy Kreme Donut place in that area! The trifecta would be complete: Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Chick-Fil-A!

  • I am so happy Chick-fil-a coming to town. Offers an alternative to the burger group. But...do not delude ourselves that they sell "healthy" or "healthier" food. Ounce for ounce their nutrition stats are worse than any burger franchise. High calories, high fat, high sodium. I am not complaining - I scarf down a fast food artery clogger every day. But, we should be aware this is not a healthy alternative, just a a different way to put on the pounds.

  • Actually ParkerDaws, they have quite a few healthy sides and entrees. Go to their website, chickfila.com, and look at some of those options.

  • Husker I realize they, like every other fast food joint, has some "healthy" choices. But let's be a realist - most customers don't go to fast food restaurants for the "salads" and "yogurt". I didn't want to get into a long discussion with you, but when you stated "some of the healthiest food around" you are wrong and misleading. For example, the yummy banana pudding shake is wonderful, but some might want to take a lipitor cholesterol pill with it.

So, how do I get a job like yours being a blogger for Chick-fil-A?

  • Very excited about Chick-fil-a coming, although I've known for months now. But now that the cat is out of the bag everyone else can "celebrate". Menards is coming to Cape as well. Will be located at Bloomfield and Siemers.

  • Well, I take that back, not everyone can celebrate. I'm sure the empoloyees at Pizza Inn aren't too happy. I felt so bad knowing that they were going to be closing everytime I went in to eat. I wanted to tell them, but I couldn't.

Actually, for most people Peanut oil is safe to eat. Its the protein in peanuts that trigger the allergy and they are removed in processing.

  • Hey ParkerDaws, it's a pretty cool job getting paid by Chick-fil-A. If you're looking for a job fill out an application. They're selective but maybe you can get on there.

  • This makes me very happy! I love Chick-Fil-A! I'm hoping that it will do very well in Cape.

  • Just what Cape needs...another franchise. Aside from Saffron and Bella, where has all the creativity and culture gone?

  • Yea Boy!

  • Saffron is absolute crap there cognitive77! It's the most God awful food I have ever ate. You must not get out of the city very often... you might want to try Chicago or St. Louis for some better choices there Sweetie Pie!

  • I heard a rumor that we are getting a chuck-e-cheese where the old Ponderosa was located. Any truth to that?

    -- Posted by Skeptic1 on Sat, Feb 26, 2011, at 8:17 PM
  • BTW, I don't know what personal grudge you have with Saffron, but it is indeed a decent restaurant. Anyone with a cultured palate could tell you that. Oh, and "sweetie pie", how about you try and stop talking in such a condescending tone, okay? With my travels over the past 7 years including Kauai, New Orleans, Bar Harbor, Portland, and Chicago (I've been traveling to Chicago once or twice a year for the past 5 years), I'm pretty sure my tastes are quite cultured.
