Back to School tax holiday starts tomorrow
Pencils, folders, lunchboxes, jeans, tennis shoes.....what's on your back to school shopping list?
Whether it's a new computer or just a new box of crayons you're after, this weekend you'll save at least 4.225 percent on your purchases thanks to Missouri's Back to School Sales Tax Holiday.
To coenciede with this, West Park Mall's newest store: The Children's Place will be opening Friday.
The sales tax holiday begins Friday morning at midnight and ends at midnight on Sunday.
Not only does the tax holiday save Missouri families money, it also gives the state's businesses a boost, says Tracy King, Missouri Chamber vice president of governmental affairs.
"Having the tax holiday encourages Missourians to buy school supplies in our brick and mortar stores rather than from out-of-state websites that don't charge sales taxes any day of the year. It also incents residents of nearby states to travel to Missouri and shop here this weekend."
