Dear Diary: President Obama's Recent Entries

Jan. 6th: Just returned from another fantastic vacation with the family to Hawaii. I know our trip in 2011 cost the taxpayers an estimated $7 million but the media will give me a break this year since I worked on the "fiscal cliff" during my time off. Heck, I'm no different than any other middle-class American. This was a working vacation.
Feb. 12th: Another tough day at work. Had to give my State of the Union speech but I do enjoy listening to myself talk. My aides told me that Speaker John Boehner was squirming and rolling his eyes throughout my message. I love aggravating and attacking those pesky Republicans.
Feb. 14th: Michelle and I just got back to the White House from our date. We did what most middle-class workers do on Valentine's Day. We went to an exclusive restaurant in D.C. called minibar, where the nightly prix fixe dinner for two runs $450, not including drinks, taxes and tips. The secret service motorcade caused quite a traffic jam for the other citizens, but then again, I am the President of the United States. They'll get over it.
Feb. 15th: I'm in a great mood today. It's only been five weeks since our Hawaiian vacation, and Michele and I are taking separate weekend vacations to celebrate President's Day. The wife and some of her friends are taking all their children to Colorado for a ski trip. They're booked at the Sebastian Hotel on Vail Mountain where the room rates are really reasonable. You can get two queen beds for $605 a night or multi-bedroom suites for up to $2,000 a night. We want to watch our budget in these tough times. They'll get to ski at Buttermilk Mountain, featured on the Winter X Games, and spend time at the private home of Aspen Ski Company owners, Jim and Paula Crown, big donors of mine.
Feb. 15th: Just finished my speech in Chicago and now it's party time! With the wife headed for Colorado, I'm finally aboard Air Force One and on my way to Florida for a three-day golf adventure with just the boys. My staff has me set up at an exclusive resort near West Palm Beach, the Floridian Yacht and Golf Club. I know it costs $180,000 an hour to fly this jet around but, then again, I am the president, and the taxpayers don't want me to suffer from too much stress.
Just arrived in Florida, and the White House press pool is really upset. They were just told they were banned from the resort and there would be no access to me until we leave Monday. I love it! Some of my biggest campaign donors and friends from Chicago are meeting me here. Tiger Woods is even dropping by to play 18 holes with America's newly-elected Presidential Idol..... me! This is going to be one expensive weekend but who cares; I don't have to worry about re-election. * More presidential insight to follow in months to come.
