More calls announced for 'Gone Girl' extras

A series of new casting calls for 20th Century Fox's feature film "Gone Girl" is scheduled to begin Thursday.

According to a news release from the "Gone Girl" Background Casting Department, the open calls are seeking men and women 30 years old and older to serve as paid extras in the film. All races and ethnicities are encouraged to attend, the release said.

The first casting call is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rose Theatre at Southeast Missouri State University, with parking available next to the theater.

The second casting call will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at West Park Mall; attendees should use the main mall entrance and follow the signs.

The third casting call will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Rose Theatre.

Participants who signed up to be an extra during the August casting call at Rose Theatre should not attend the new casting calls. People interested should attend only one of the three casting calls, and the casting venues should not be contacted for additional information, organizers said. I think it's great that so far the movie people are eating in our restaurants, hiring our people, renting local properties, buying merchandise in our stores. These were all the same selling points for the casino remember? And I like the stories being shared about the one on one personal encounters...the waiter at Outback all jazzed simply because he waited on a group of them, the lady at Goodwill who sold Ben Afleck some clothes..and I hope to hear more! Maybe Cape will become known as a friendly place for movie people to film...every little boost to our economy is good right?

With their hotel stays, restaurant purchases, and I've even seen the crew shopping in Target, they'll be a good boost to our economy. It's a good thing! Let's be nice and maybe another film will shoot here.

I was at Schnucks parking lot Friday getting ready to go to Wal Mart. A truck passed in front of me. Ben Afleck was driving! I was in back of him until he turned off at the plaza by Holiday Inn.

Saw Ben walking downtown with several people, stopping to look at the clock on Main. I think it's great, but I am still waiting to Rosamund Pike. I think she is a wonderful actress!!!

For those of you who have already been to casting calls don't give up. Movies need all kinds of people from young and fit to old and flabby. They probably don't have the full cross section of people they need for the movie yet. It doesn't mean you won't be called.
