A Cape Girardeau man and his two passengers were injured in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

Daniel Shackles II, 21, of Cape Girardeau was westbound on County Road 472, three miles north of Sikeston, Mo., in Scott County in a 1998 Chevrolet when he lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the leftside of the roadway and struck a tree.

Shackles and passengers Dustin Hopkins, 21, of Dexter, and Matthew Turbet, 22, of Sikeston, received moderate injuries and were all taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Shackles was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.
