An annual survey of venture capital investment activity in the United States shows that Missouri ranked third for the second year in a row in the Midwest region for venture capital investments during 2002, according to the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

The MoneyTree Survey, which is done in cooperation with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Venture Economics and the National Venture Capital Association, revealed that 36 Missouri companies received investments totaling $162 million for the year.
