Hospital's cancer program receives accreditation
The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons has granted its three-year approval with commendation to the cancer program at Southeast Missouri Hospital. This is the highest approval that can be given. Southeast met or exceeded 36 specific standards. Twenty-five percent of hospitals in the United States have cancer programs approved by the Commission on Cancer, and 80 percent of newly diagnosed cancer patients are treated in these institutions.
