An estate planning for family businesses seminar will be held Sept. 28 at Glenn Auditorium in Robert A. Dempster Hall.

The one-day seminar, co-sponsored by the Donald L. Harrison College of Business and the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Small Business Management, is designed specifically to provide members and key employees of closely held family businesses with information and techniques to assist them in perpetuating the growth of their business.

"Most of our business constituents in Southeast Missouri are small, family-owned businesses and many are becoming more active in terms of planning for the future; and estate planning is key in terms of being able to successfully pass on a business to other family members," said Dr. Jack Sterrett, chair of the Department of Marketing and director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Small Business Management at Southeast Missouri State University.
