"How to Start and Manage a Small Business" is the topic of a three-hour workshop to be held at the University Extension Center in Jackson Tuesday.

Rick Sparks, business and industry specialist with University of Missouri Extension, and Buz Sutherland of the Small Business Development Center at Southeast Missouri State University will be speakers at the 6:30-to-9:30 p.m. event.

Topics will include new business start-up, buyout and franchising, financing of a new business, record-keeping, and developing a business plan.
