Julie Poston and Melody Anderson, both of Jackson, and Tammy Wubker of Cape Girardeau have joined the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Cape Girardeau district office.

Poston, who has a background in public relations, will serve as district secretary. She is a graduate of the accounting and secretarial program at Metro Business College in Cape Girardeau.

Anderson, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, with a bachelor's degree in graphic communications, will serve as the district office's program coordinator. She previously worked in advertising and sales.

Wubker, who has a background in marketing and public relations, has served as has advertising director for a company of retail stores the past five years. She will serve as MDA district director. She is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, with a bachelor's degree in mass communications.

Donna Nesbit of Benton has joined Edwards Primestar, 2148 Broadway, as a Primestar representative.

Nesbit's appointment was announced recently by Dan Kurtz, Primestar sales manager.

Nesbit has almost two years experience with Primestar Satellite Systems.

The Primestar system can be leased.

Shelby E. Kneer of Cape Girardeau has been awarded status as a Certified Diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association.

Certified Diplomate is reserved for people able to meet the stringent requirements of the APA in the areas of knowledge, skill, training and experience in the arts and sciences of psychotherapy.

The APA is a group of profesisonals actively engaged in the field of psychotherapy and consultation. Board membership includes such areas as psychiatry, medicine, psychology, social work, counseling and family therapy.

Kneer also recently attended a two-day advanced clinical workshop at Memphis, Tenn., sponsored by the Institute for Behavioral Healthcare. Topic of the conference was "Treating the Effects of Severe Trauma in Adults and Children."

Kneer practices as a licensed clinical social worker in Cape Girardeau and Southeast Missouri.

Stacy Rauls and Lisa Boyer have joined Best Mortgage, 1467 N. Kingshighway, as loan associates.

Boyer of Cape Girardeau will work in the Perryville and Sikeston areas. She has seven years experience in mortgage banking and is a graduate of Hickey Business School at Clayton.

Rauls of Dexter will work in the Dexter office.

She previously worked in sales and is a graduate of Three River Community College in Poplar Bluff.

Phyllis Seabaugh, sales associated with Century 21 Dutch Realty in Jackson, has been named the top overall producer for 1998.

Seabaugh, who had been with the company 10 years, had more than $2.9 million in sales, up 37 percent from her sales of 1997.

Denise C. Harris has been named director of development for SSM Rehab in St. Louis.

Harris, formerly of Cape Girardeau, served as assistant director of annual giving for Georgia State University, Atlanta, since September 1995.

She received her bachelor's degree from Southeast Missouri State University and is a member of the National Society of Fundraising Executives and the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.

SSM Rehab provides 13 outpatient rehabilitation sites, eight comprehensive impatient rehabilitation units consisting of more than 175 beds; a pediatric specialty unit and eight sub-acute units with more than 250 beds.

SSM Rehab is a member of SSM Health Care.

Mike McKinnis of Cape Girardeau has been named "Salesman of the Year" at McDowell South, 4670 Jackson Blvd, Jackson,

The award is based on sales and service.

McKinnis joined McDowell South when it opened last August.

Vern Jennings, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's St. Louis Riverport Casino and Hotel, has been elected president of the Missouri Riverboat Gaming Association, headquartered at St. Louis.

Jennings succeeds Duncan McKenzie, president of the Flamingo Casino at Kansas City, who has been named executive vice president and general manager of Grand Casino at Gulfport, Miss.

Bill Grace, managing partner of the St. Joe Frontier Casino at St. Joseph, was elected secretary, and Jim Sweifel, chief financial officer of President Casino Inc., St. Louis, was elected treasurer.

The gaming association is a 35-member industry organization of casino operators and vendors.

Harry Stevenson of has joined Lucy Lee Healthcare system at its Puxico Medical Center.

Stevenson, a graduate of the University of Missouri's Sinclair School of Nursing, also holds an associate of applied science degree in nursing from John A. Logan Community College at Carterville, Ill.

Stevenson previously worked for the University School of Medicine, and served as a home health nurse with Visiting Nurse Association. He was in the Peace Corps two years in the Dominican Republic.

Lucy Lee Heathcare System, a member of Tenet HealthSystem, operates clinics in 10 communities, including Puxico, Dexter, Malden, Bloomfield, Bernie and Piedmont.
