Twelve members of the Girardot Chapter of Professional Secretaries International recently attended a seminar sponsored by Lindbergh Chapter PSI, at St. Louis.

Attending the session, entitled, "Success by Design, Your Professional Skills Portfolio," were Girardot Chapter president Donna Heuer, Beth Langston, Michelle Kilburn, Marge Phillips, Betty Sargent, Lillian Schneider, Brenda Glastetter, Carol Cannon, Barbara Burnett, Sherri Jenkins, Marie Steinhoff and Linda Koenig.

Kirk and Joie Studzinski, owners of Stanley Steemer Carpet Cleaners Inc., Cape Girardeau, were honored recently during the Stanley Steemer National Convention at Las Vegas.

The Studzinskis received the "Owners Enthusiasm Award," based on sales and service. The Cape Girardeau franchise was also honored for spot remover sales.

Mathew Darr of Paducah, Ky., and president and general manager of Stanley Steemer franchises in Cape Girardeau, Paducah, Carterville, Ill., and the Indiana state franchise, was named "Employee of the Year."

Vickie House has been named banking center manager of NationsBank at 1846 Jackson Blvd., in Jackson.

House, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in marketing management, has completed several American Institute of Banking courses.

She started her banking career with NationsBank, formerly Boatmen's Bank, in 1991. She has served as a teller, lead teller and consumer banker/leader.

NationsBank, with $310 billion in total assets, is the third largest U.S. bank with operations in 16 states.

Richard Ross has been honored as the Businessman of the Year by the Piedmont Area Chamber of Commerce.

Ross has been involved in the auto business more than 50 years and has been active in the community. He operates Ford dealerships at Piedmont and Ellington.

The Piedmont Chamber also named Tom Ream "Citizen of the Year." Ream, a teacher in the Clearwater School District for 33 years, has served as building coordinator for projects at Piedmont Area Park and Piedmont Library since his retirement.

Thomas M. Meyer has received the Missouri Association of Realtors Honor Society Award for a ninth consecutive year.

The award is presented by the MAR, based on educaiton and participation in national, state and local associations.

Meyer received his award from Cheryl Huffman, president of the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors.

Paul and Leslie Gillean of Sikeston were big winners during the recent SEMO Homebuilders Association's Home & Garden Show, held at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau.

The Gilleans were winners of a $5,000 shopping spree. They received their prize from Cheryl Ziegler, president of the Homebuilders Association.

Susan Elayer of Cape Girardeau was also a winner at the Home & Garden Show. She received a $500 shopping spree from Capaha Bank.
