Dr. Robert C. Kessinger, a specific chiropractor in Cape Girardeau, has been accepted by the National Registry of Who's Who as a life member, in recognition of exemplary service to community and profession.

The registry is a recognized biographical publication for professionals.

Kessinger operates Kessinger Clinic, 1424 Kurre Lane.

Cynthia Austin, who has been in real estate for more than 1 1/2 years, recently joined ReMax Achievers.

Austin is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, has completed studies in Investing in Real Estate, from Newport University and is member of the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors, MLS Service, Missouri Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors.

She will specialize in the commerce and business real estate.

She is a 1997 Pinnacle Club/Million Dollar producer, and is a columnist for the commercial real estate section of "Business Today." She is also a licensed real estate sales representative in Illinois.

Herman Peters, John Peters and Gary Peters, of Peters Heating & Air Conditioning Inc., 5644 state Highway 25, recently attended the annual PDQ Inc. & Amana dealer meeting at Shelbyville, Ill.

Peters Heating was recognized as one of the top 10 dealers in a region that includes Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Iowa.

Bill Hodges of Albrecht/Hodges Insurance Agency, Cape Girardeau, recently attended an education seminar sponsored by the Barton Group.

The Barton Group is composed of three Missouri Mutual companies -- Barton County Mutual, which provides coverage for homeowner, farm, mobile home and commercial; Owensville Mutual, specializing in vacant and older properties; and Cape Mutual, which concentrates on providing affordable property insurance for retired people.

Hodges received continuing education credits for attending the meeting.

Randy Jennings of Bernie has been elected chairman of the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council, an organization of corn growers dedicated to the profitability of corn production. Another Southeast Missouri farmer, Dale Conner of Essex, was named secretary.

Other MCMC officers are Bob Pile of Oregon and Don Fischer of Corder.

New officers have also been selected for the Missouri Corn Growers Association. They are Ronald McNeal of Keytesville, president; Bob Sweany of Portage Des Sioux, vice president; and Brent Rockhold of Arbels, secretary-treasurer.

U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson has been honored as 1998 Guardian of Small Business.

The National Federation of Independent Business presents the award every two years, in recognition of outstanding legislative leadership on behalf of small business.

The award was determined on 13 key business votes in the House during the 1997 and 1988 session. Issues included legal reform measures to regulatory relief to a variety of tax cuts.

The NFIB represents more than 600,000 small and independent businesses nationwide.

Paul W. Meier and Eileen Meier of Jackson have been elected as delegates to the 115th annual meeting of the American Angus Association Nov. 16 at Louisville, Ky.

The Angus Association has more than 31,000 members and is the largest beef breed organization in the world.
