Scott Wachter of Chaffee has joined the staff of Schott & Van de Ven, certified public accountants, as information systems analyst.

In his new position, Wachter will be in charge of the network program for the accounting firm and will be available in analyzing computer services, programs and procedures for clients of the firm.

Wachter attended high school at Chaffee and attended Chipola Junior College in Merianna, Fla., where he received an associate of arts degree. He later received a bachelor's degree with a major in accounting from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

Jacqui Hilliard has joined St. Francis Medical Center as clinical coordinator of occupational therapy.

Hilliard and her husband, Howard Hilliard, have relocated to Cape Girardeau from Marshalltown, Iowa, where she was director of occupational therapy.

Hilliard has also worked in a variety of clinical settings in New Zealand and Australia.

B.J. Crader has been named office administrator of Premier Family Physicians, 8 Doctors' Park.

Drs. Dan Bieser and Ken Phillips announced Crader's appointment.

Crader has number of years of experience in medical practice management.

Michael A. Clark of Jackson and Mitchell Farra of Plattesville, Wis., have been assigned as probation and parole officers at the Poplar Bluff district office of the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole.

Clark, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and law enforcement, was previously employed at the Family Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau.

Farra, who has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and corrections from the University of Wisconsin, was previously employed at Wyalusing Academy in Prairie DuChein, Wis.

Claudia Murphy has been promoted to vice president and cashier at South East Missouri Bank.

The promotion was announced recently by bank president Steve Ketelsen.

Murphy has been with South East Missouri Bank since it was founded in 1981.

Jerry Cady, former assistant store manager at JCPenney at West Park Mall, has been promoted to store manager at Freeport, Ill.

Harry Rediger, manager of the local store, announced Cady's appointment last week. Cady worked at the local store for six years.

The Freeport Store, which opened in 1989, is a 33,000-square-foot store. Cady will assume his new position Saturday.

Dr. Charles H. Cozean Jr., an ophthalmologist, has been named a member of the Westminster College Board of Trustees.

Cozean is a graduate of Westminster, at Fulton, with a dual major in chemistry and biology and an emphasis in pre-medicine.

After leaving Westminster, Cozean attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. Cozean also served in the Air Force at Abilene, Texas.

Cozean holds several patents for the development of an intraocular lens design and a surgical tool called the capsulorhexitomac. He serves on a number of boards and commissions in addition to serving on the medical staff of three hospitals and as an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at St. Louis University Hospital.

Cozean is also part owner of the Cozean Funeral Home in Farmington, a Cozean family business since 1864.

Cape Girardeau family physician Roderic C. Crist has been named medical director for Southeast Hospice, a service of Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Crist is affiliated with Midwest Physicians and Surgeons at 300-304 Mount Auburn Road and has been a part of the Cape Girardeau medical community since 1989.

Crist, as medical director, will be responsible for the medical supervision of the hospital program. He will work with the Southeast Hospice Interdisciplinary group and local physicians who refer to Southeast Hospital.

He succeeds Dr. Charles P. McGinty, hospice medical director. McGinty has served Southeast Hospice since 1994 and will continue his involvement with Southeast Hospice.

Southeast Hospice has provided support for more than 650 terminally ill patients and their families since 1986. The program serves all or parts of 10 Southeast Missouri counties.

Dr. Randall L. Stahly has been named medical staff president at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Other medical staff officers include Dr. Paul D. Thompson, vice president, and Gordon L. Haycraft, secretary. Immediate past-president is Dr. David Catron.

Stahly, neurologist, practices at 5 Doctors' Park. He received his D.O. from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, and completed his residency at St. Louis University. He is board certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the National Osteopathic boards.

Prior to establishing practice in Cape Girardeau, Stahly practiced in Milwaukee and later in St. Louis, where he also served as assistant clinical professor of neurology at St. Louis University Hospitals.

The following physicians have been named to the Southeast Missouri Hospital Medical Staff Executive Committee: R. Blaine Russell, chief, Anesthesiology Department; Michael A. Kolda, chief, Emergency Medicine Department; Edwin J. Masters, chief, Family Practice Department; Dean A. Edwards, chief, Medicine Department; Scott G. Pringle, chief, OB/GYN Department; Mark C. Hosler, chief, Pathology Department; Gary S. Olson, chief, Pediatrics Department; Craig W. Williams, chief Radiology Department; and Walter A. Schroeder, chief, Surgery Department.

Gerry Salter, of St. Francis Center for Health and Rehabilitation, has completed requirements for certification as a strengthen and conditioning specialist (CSCS), following a two-part examination in Dallas.

Salter participated in the CSCS program sponsored by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, which approved the CSCS certification in 1993.

Rick C. Shultz of Jackson has been named top "New Account Winner" for Maintenance Engineering.

Shultz, who joined Maintenance Engineering as an independent lighting consultant last year, was the top performer over a sales force of 300.

Shultz, a graduate of Missouri Institute of Technology, with a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering technology, has more than eight years of sales experience.

Maintenance Engineering is headquartered in Fargo, N.D.
