POPLAR BLUFF -- The store has been serving the needs of the community since the 1940s. Products sold cover a wide range of needs, from pets to lawns to livestock. And the owners and employees of LeGrand's Feed and Fertilizer are working to make sure their store continues to serve the community in the future.

"The store was opened by the original LeGrands in the '40s," said manager Amanda Jackson. "Mark and Sabra Hall bought it in 1995 and have owned it since that time."

Jackson has been at the store for two years. Clyne Lourance has been there 29 years.

"I have a history in animal science and agriculture so I'm able to help customers with just about anything," said Jackson. "And what I can't help with Clyne has seen -- so he has the answer.

"Clyne is just our all-around guy. He knows just about everything there is to know about the business."

LeGrand's carries supplies for dogs such as Diamond brand dog food, Pro Pack, flea control products and more.

The store currently carries Frontline topical flea products for dogs and cats.

For livestock, LeGrand's has all types of feed including such brands as Nutrena and Black Gold. There are several livestock products available including wormers and Fort Dodge vaccines.

For lawn and garden bulk garden seed, bulk grass seed and bagged fertilizer and lime are a few of the products offered.

"We specialize to the customer," Jackson said. "If we don't have it here, we can get it for them if they want to special order it. And we have the ability to help our customers with just about any problem they may have."
