Kerasotes Showplace 8 Theater is expected to open in mid-May at Poplar Bluff.

The new theater complex on U.S. Highway 67 South will double the number of screens operating in Poplar Bluff by Kerasotes.

The new complex will offer two large auditoriums and six smaller theaters combining for about 2,000 seats.

The new theater will offer digital stereo sound and huge screens.

Kerasotes operates about 100 movie theaters in six states, totaling about 500 screens, including the Town Plaza 5, a five-screen complex at Cape Girardeau.
