Wilma Dooley, a Mary Kay director, was awarded a diamond ring with 15 diamonds for oustanding sales for the past year.

This past week at Royal N'Orleans restaurant in Cape Girardeau, Dooley announced and presented awards to the following consultants for sales: Debbie Balsman of Perryville, Mo.; Sheila Hahs of Sedgewickville, Mo.; Kelly Hartmann of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Sue Gloth of Chaffee, Mo.; Tammy Van Gennip of Advance, Mo.; Sue Zoll of Jackson, Mo.; and Tammy Richardet of Perryville.

Each consultant was presented with a ribbon and gift for achievement.

Lusk attends physician finance program

Lonnie R. Lusk, accounting supervisor for Schott & Van de Ven Certified Public Accountants, has attended a physician finances program.

Lusk learned to assist physicians in analyzing and negotiating participation in managed care programs, applying tax savings to financial planning and advising them on business management strategies.

Lusk is a certified public account and has been with the firm since 1997. He has an extensive background in banking and business management. Lusk is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Schott & Van de Ven is a full-service public accounting firm located at 1020 N. Kingshighway, Suite D, Cape Girardeau. Founded in 1959, the firm has satellite offices in Marble Hill, Mo., and Marion, Ill.

Cape fire department announces promotion

Brad Dillow, a Cape Girardeau firefighter, has been promoted to captain effective Saturday. He has been an EMT/firefighter with the Cape Girardeau Fire Department since Sept. 25, 1995.

His new duties will include directing and supervising firefighters, directing personnel training and supervising personnel in the inspection of public buildings for fire hazards and pre-fire planning. Dillow is currently a member of the department's Swiftwater Rescue and Technical Rescue Teams. He is a fire service instructor and hazardous materials technician. Dillow is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in administration of justice.
