Teen Challenge director receives ministry degree

Jack Smart has earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Mo. It is the only seminary endorsed by the Assemblies of God for the graduate-level education of ministers. Smart is the executive director of Teen Challenge International Mid-America, off County Road 621 near Cape Girardeau. The executive director since 1990, Smart has served for 28 years at the faith-based ministry dedicated to the recovery and discipleship of men with drug- and alcohol-related addictions.

Realty Executives adds Dorothy Miller to staff

Realty Executives of Cape County has added Dorothy Miller to its staff. A Realtor for 35 years, Miller has been a resident of Cape Girardeau since January 1975. Miller was voted Realtor of the Year by the Cape Girardeau Board of Realtors in 1978 and 1998. In addition to serving on staff at Realty Executives, Miller is state director for the Missouri Association of Realtors.

Diabetes, endocrinology practice adds physician

Ahmad Zaki Sheikh has joined the staff of Cape Diabetes and Endocrinology, a physician practice of Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Sheikh joins endocrinologist Saleh A. Aldasouqi in providing Southeast Missouri residents with care for diabetes and other endocrine system disorders. Sheikh is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. He received his medical degree from Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry-Hamdard University in Karachi, Pakistan. Sheikh completed an internal medicine residency at Elmhurst Hospital Center, Elmhurst N.Y., through the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and geriatric medicine and endocrine, diabetes and metabolism fellowships at the University of Miami.
