*** Doctor completes surgical reconstruction training course Dr. Zenon Duda recently attended a Foot and Ankle Reconstruction Skills Surgical Course in Miami at the DaVinci Anatomical Surgery Laboratory. The course featured new hardware and instrumentation developed by Deputy Surgical supplies. It allowed an opportunity to work with anatomical specimens and the biomedical engineer who was project manager for the development of adaptable metallic hardware for the fixation of complex fractures and surgical procedures, Duda said.

Dr. Zenon Duda recently attended a Foot and Ankle Reconstruction Skills Surgical Course in Miami at the DaVinci Anatomical Surgery Laboratory. The course featured new hardware and instrumentation developed by Deputy Surgical supplies. It allowed an opportunity to work with anatomical specimens and the biomedical engineer who was project manager for the development of adaptable metallic hardware for the fixation of complex fractures and surgical procedures, Duda said. The course was held in July. Duda practices podiatry at Cape Foot Clinic in Cape Girardeau.

New doctors join Southeast Missouri Hospital

Southeast Missouri Hospital recently announced the addition of several doctors to its staff. They are:

Dr. Adekunle O. Obisesan is an adult hospitalist at Southeast. Obisesan completed his medical education at the University of Llorin in Nigeria. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore. He received his master of public health degree from Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health, in Baltimore.

Dr. Timothy N. Thomas, in emergency medicine. Dr. Thomas holds a bachelor of science degree from Mississippi State University in Starkville. He received his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association.

Dr. Heather Cugini, in obstetrics and gynecology. Cugini holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from McKendree College in Lebanon, Ill. She received her doctor of medicine degree from St. George's University, Grenada, British West Indies. Cugini completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, N.J. She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Tim T. Duke in family medicine. He is affiliated with Plaza Primary Care in the Southeast Medical Plaza. Duke holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Ill., and a doctorate of psychology from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Mo. Duke received his doctor of medicine degree from the Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, West Indies. He completed an internship and residency in family medicine at Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La. Duke also serves as an adjunct professor for Walden University.

Dr. Stephanie Danette Miller, in family medicine, is affiliated with Plaza Primary Care West. Miller holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She received her doctor of medicine degree from the same institution. Miller completed a family medicine residency through the AnMed Family Medicine Residency Program in Anderson, S.C. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Mary Kay agents recognized for sales

The Jana Jateff Unit of Mary Kay Cosmetics recently held its year-end picnic to honor top producers for the 2010 sales year. LaDonia Beggs of Jackson was recognized as most consistent consultant. Cecil Pikey of Scott City was named husband of the year. Evelyn Pikey of Scott City was named Miss Go Give. Miss Enthusiasm was Katie Eggimann of Advance, Mo., Rookie of the year was Amanda Kirby of Thebes, Ill. Miss Mary Kay Image was Sarah Author from Louisiana, Mo. Queen of Sharing was Kay Waller of Cape Girardeau. Waller was also named sales queen. Sales Court members were, Michelle Stoverink of Leopold, Mo., No. 5; Amy Romack of Cape Girardeau, No. 4; LaDonia Beggs of Jackson, No. 3; and Sherry Campbell of Sedgewickville, Mo., No. 2. In addition, Jana Jateff, senior sales director, recently was part of the national court for the 17th year in a row. Jateff, of Cape Girardeau, has been with Mary Kay for 28 years.
