Josh and Courtni Stephens have opened a Kona Ice flavored shaved ice truck. Kona Ice allows customers to chose from more than 30 flavors of shaved ice. Aside from serving frozen treats, Kona Ice is also available for fundraisers. Kona Ice gives a portion of each sale to local organizations and causes at each stop.
Christopher Dirnberger was named director of business development at Cuba Financial Group in Cape Girardeau. Dirnberger will be responsible for implementing marketing strategies and growth and development efforts for the Midwest region.
Seth Merriman has been named general manager of Bagger Dave's Burger Tavern. Merriman's responsibilities include customer service and quality. Merriman worked with franchise partner Lonnie Griggs to hire and train the initial restaurant staff before opening. "I have been gratified by the community welcome to Bagger Dave's, especially as this is the first of its kind out of Michigan where the chain started," Merriman said.
Jenny Ison Stigers of Cape Girardeau has been installed as president of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. The board certifies pediatric dentists who practice throughout the United States and internationally. Stigers is an associate professor at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and currently serves as director of the West Kentucky Mobile Dental Program. Stigers was elected as a director of the board in 2008 and is chairwoman of the examination committee.
Saint Francis Medical Center has added the following physicians to its emergency and trauma team: Chad Armstrong, Lauren Blackwelder, Brendon Gelford, Michael Killen, Ronald Leckie, Ronald L. Robinson and Timothy Thomas. "Bringing more expertise to an already strong program, this advancement reinforces the Medical Center's commitment to provide exceptional emergency care for patients and residents of Southeast Missouri," said Steven C. Bjelich, president of Saint Francis.
