At 33, Summers -- principal/owner at Schultz & Summers Engineering -- has established himself as the "go-to guy" for all things involving community infrastructure. Summers is chairman of Poplar Bluff Industries; a member of Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Board; parish board for Poplar Bluff First United Methodist Church; and a member of the Eagle Scout Board of Review.
"Our community has realized the need and acted on local improvements that will continue to spur growth in the Poplar Bluff area -- like the completion of four-laning Highways 67 and 60, Pike Creek Sewer District, Shelby Road Phase I, the Industrial Park Bypass, water storage improvements within Poplar Bluff and our local water district, Butler County PWSD No. 1. Our citizens have financially supported these improvements and our community leaders have had the foresight to make them happen. With these and continued revitalization of our downtown, Poplar Bluff should continue to enjoy growth for many years into the future."
