Play highlights SEMO conference

The reader's theater presentation "William Faulkner and Toni Morrison: A Nobel Performance" will highlight Southeast Missouri State University's Faulkner and Morrison Conference. The program, written and directed by Dr. Roseanna Whitlow, instructor in the Department of Communication Studies and director of Speaking Across the Curriculum at Southeast, uses pieces of Faulkner's and Morrison's Nobel Prize acceptance speeches to relate the two writers to one another. The free show will be at 7 p.m. today in the University Center Ballroom.

Artist will speak about Crisp exhibit

Artist Jun Kaneko will speak about his work in the Crisp Museum during a free artist lecture from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Convocation Center on the River Campus. The self-titled exhibition "Jun Kaneko" features work from the past two decades of Kaneko's work. The speech will talk about the pieces and his process. The exhibit is on display through Dec. 5. Tickets on sale for 'Riverdance' show

The Show Me Center has started selling tickets for the "Riverdance" production scheduled for Jan. 25. The celebration of Irish music, song and dance has grown up from a seven-minute dance segment in 1994 to a full-length production. The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Show Me Center. Tickets are $38, $47 and $58.50, and are on sale at the Show Me Center box office, by calling 651-5000, at Ticketmaster outlets and www.showmecenter.biz.
