Juried art show opens

The opening reception for the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri's Regional Juried Art Exhibition will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 4 at the council's gallery, 32 N. Main St. in Cape Girardeau. Awards will be announced at 6 p.m. as part of First Friday with the Arts. Painter James F. Wilson is the juror for the show.

Glenn House hosts Christmas tours

The Glenn House will open for its annual Christmas tours beginning today. Advance tickets are available at the Convention and Visitors Bureau for $4 for adults and $2 for children. At the door, ticket prices are $5 for adults and $2 for children. Tour times are as follows: from 1 to 4 p.m. today through Sunday, Dec. 5-6, Dec. 12-13, Dec. 19-20, and Dec. 26-27. Candlelight tours are scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 11 and 19.

Nature photos go on display

The nature photography of Bridget Jackson will be on display at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center in December. The display, titled "Oh, What Beautiful Things You'll See," will be available for viewing throughout the month from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Duck stamp entries at nature center

The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center will display artwork submitted by contestants of the annual Junior Duck Stamp Contest. The artwork can be seen at the nature center's auditorium gallery from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through December.
