While Mardi Gras technically falls on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday -- hence the Fat Tuesday references -- most people start celebrating the weekend before, enjoying a nice long jaunt of revelry before Lent begins. Fun-lovers in Southeast Missouri are no different. The fun starts today and reappears at various bars and venues until deep into the night Tuesday. Gather friends, don feathers and a mask and head out to the local taverns to catch some beads and make some memories.
