A ceremony was held at the Isle of Capri casino site on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, to commemorate the placement of the final steel beam, which was signed by dignitaries and members of the community. An evergreen tree and American flag were placed on the beam as it was hoisted, in keeping with a good luck tradition. The casino is set to open around Thanksgiving of this year.
