Neighborhood Connections' 9th annual Block Party, Saturday, October 20, on Fountain Street between Broadway and Themis Street. The event, which included food, live music, face painting, pony rides, sidewalk chalk art, a hula-hoop contest, and a truck from the Cape Girardeau fire Department, was sponsored by St. Mark Lutheran Church of Cape Girardeau, Christ Episcopal Church and the Southeast Missouri Food Bank. The mobile food bank was also on hand giving away a week's worth of groceries to families in attendance.
