The 1200 block of North Spanish Street was evacuated Sunday, June 9, after an unidentified man detonated an explosive in a vehicle parked in front of the residence of his estranged wife, injuring himself. Cape Girardeau police officers searched the area for explosives with the help of the FBI and the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. No other explosives were found.
