The Feed My Starving Children MobilePack event Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau. Organized by La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, 2,769 volunteers from numerous area churches and organizations packed 723,168 meals that will be shipped to malnourished children in countries all over the world by the non-profit Christian organization. Enough meals to feed 1,981 children one meal a day for a year were packed. Between three-hundred and four-hundred volunteers worked during each of the seven two-hour shifts filling the bags, each of which contain enough food for six children.
